Adobe’s Creative Cloud service suffered an extended outage that started May 13th and lasted for more than 24hs, affecting users’ ability to sign in, leaving a number of them unable to use their subscription-based services and in some cases locked out of their software. The situation, described as “a nightmare in an industry that runs on tight deadlines”, underscores the inadequacy of cloud-based models that tie critical tasks to the availability of net services that are not inherently needed. After restoring the service Adobe issued an apology and stated that the company is “putting standards in place to prevent this from happening again”. Mmmm. That was the exact nightmare that I envisioned when Adobe first talk about going into the cloud! Why didn’t they think about that before? I hope they wake up and come back down on earth and stop using the cloud.
HA… HA… **** the cloud !
That´s what happens when you rely on a retarded business model.
The licensing really should allow 48 hours+ of “questionable behavior” before it locks you out and signs out the other machines using the license / serial number.
^ agreed
The licensing really should be an optional perpetual license.
I’m amazed that people buy into a system which has two extra potential weak links.
Isn’t this kind of system exactly what AD is thinking of as the Holy Grail for Max?
Another stroke of unintelligence has struck another big player…I just got an email from Avid
