Autodesk will once again be holding online sessions in which 3DS Max, Maya and Mudbox experts from the company will be answering related questions from the audience. Sessions will be held March 26 and 27. Notably absent is, again, any reference to Softimage/XSI. A form is available to submit your questions. More on Autodesk.
Q: Why have a user voice page if you ignore the top requests?
Tomorrow is the day they say Softimage is gone. Damn AD.
If only FumeFX would work on Modo or C4D I would be long gone. Damn company.
Max plugins are too good to leave.
They have ended XSI.

That hardly seems like an official announcement. That being said, I don’t doubt it is part of AD business plan.
managed to leave that in the wrong place
I really think that if we all hadn’t made a lot of noise last year, that Max would be on the chopping block as well.
I feel sorry for all the let down customers.
Very sad day.
Autodesk don’t kill Max yet because it has a bigger user base, but how much will it be developed in GFX direction, i bet the plugins will continue to save the day.
For games they build Maya LT, and Bifrost is a sort of ICE version 2 of Softimage that will appear in Maya. .
Not in Max. So everyone knows the direction wind is blowing.
I believe this chop off will affect the customers loyalty in 3dsmax also.
We all thinking who is going to be next since autodesk starts to show preference in Maya.Should we keep investing our time on 3dsmax?
Remember this “Autodesk denies intent to kill off 3ds Max, Softimage” 5th September 2012.
In a statement reposted on Jamie Gwilliam’s blog, Autodesk’s M&E director of product management Chris Vienneau states “that the rumor that the [End of Life] of Softimage and 3ds Max is upon us is totally false”.
