The video of the Autodesk Expert Challenge session focusing on 3DS Max that took place recently is now available online. The session covered a number of interesting subjects, including 3DS Max development, a renewed attention to users’ requests through UserVoice, Tom Hudson’s participation, Eddie Perlberg’s views as the new Product Manager and more. Watch the video on Autodesk’s Area.
I actually liked Eddie. He seemed like a great guy and very honest. From what I could capture, Open Subdiv is coming …
Other things will be improved, but of course, with a focus on all markets, since Max is used on all markets.
Another cool info is that it seems Autodesk is rethinking the whole 3ds Max and 3ds Max Design division.
I just hope that there comes a day that for Max and it’s users these kinds of events are more about talking about the great new features added to the product and other more real and more technical stuff(like maya’s sessions, surprise) and less about the new PM(granted justifiably) taking half the event trying to convince us that the future is going to be bright and that they now actually care about the users(!)…
Not trying to be ungrateful, because I really do appreciate these guys coming out and trying to reassure us about the future, but still, watching the other session, well, it doesn’t help you feel any better…
Could be time for “big annoying things”…
