CityEngine 2011 new features announced

After Esri’s recent acquisition of Procedural, the upcoming version of the 3D urban environment creation software was demoed at the Esri User Conference in San Diego, California. New features include:
– Drag’n’drop capabilities allow easy-to-use GIS data import, comfortable placement of landmark models, and simplified rule assignment
– New Style Manager allows for an interactive preview and selection of different rule templates
– Interactive street modeling
– Better material support with shader visualization
– UI improvements.
