CG is bringing significant improvements to dental treatments by giving dentists new tools that allow to produce highly customized prostethics (crowns, bridges, implants, etc.). 3D scanning and printing are being brought into the dentists’ offices, increasing the accuracy of the prostethics being used and reducing waiting time and potential issues for patients.
Also of note, the technologies are also being used for creating 3D models of patients’ jaws and facial structures for studying prior to surgery. The future for digital dentistry looks bright: new advances are expected as 3D printing materials improve. More on Cadalyst.
