France-based Dynamixyz has released Performer 7, the latest version of its markerless facial performance capture software, and announced a new technology that will make it possible to capture 3D facial deformations of an actor’s face over time.
Performer v7
Performer v7 new features include project versioning, monitoring in console mode, annotation prediction process as well as major improvements related to background tasks, GUI and user-friendliness. A trial version is available.
Dynamixyz’ 4D
The next step of Dynamixyz’ markerless face tracking technology, 4-dimensional facial mocap, will be disclosed at SIGGRAPH this month. The new technology will make it possible to capture the facial deformations of an actor’s face over time, all using a lightweight head-mounted camera safe for the eyes – and powered by SoftKinetic. In the coming months, an Early Access Program will be available to let those interested test the first release, which is expected at the beginning of 2014.
