London based Factory Fifteen have released their first short film as a collective. Shot in the Ukraine and Kazakhstan, Gamma uses a faux-documentary style to explore a possible future where private companies are charged with decontaminating irradiated cities. Giant levitating machines deposit “nuke root” technology – part fungus, part mollusc – to soak up radiation from the land. The technology is flawed, becomes autonomous, and renders the land even less habitable. The short film, a making-of, and stills can be found at FactoryFifteen.com.
