Google release ARCore, a new augmented reality SDK

Google has released a new framework for creating augmented reality experiences for Android. ARCore incorporates 3 technologies: motion tracking to understand the movement of the phone in relation to the world; environmental understanding to be able to estimate the size and location of horizontal surfaces in the camera’s field of view; and light estimation to be able to match the lighting conditions in the environment. On release the SDK can be used with Android Studio, Unity, Unreal, and web. For more information see Google’s developers website.
It might be good to know that only Google Pixel, Pixel XL and Samsung Galaxy S8 are currently supported.
You are right, what we need to know is if this is “official” support, but it can work in other devices like the S7, or if it’s limited to those devices.
