Researchers from CTU in Prague and Adobe Research have demonstrated an approach to NPR rendering that uses shading from a source drawing on a simple primitive and applies the style to more complex geometry. This enables artists to paint shading effect, either using natural media captured with a camera input or digitally, and see in real-time the effects on final geometry.
