Autodesk has released Extension 2 for Maya. New features include a render setup system that makes it easier to render and manage complex scenes, Quick Rig tool, enhancements to Shape Authoring, new motion graphics toolset (based on Mainframe’s MASH procedural animation toolkit), etc. More details on the Autodesk website.
OK!!! Now, that MASH thing they call Maya Motion Graphics is REAL POWER. Looking to spend less time in Houdini pushing through nodes and expressions(Unless extra control demands it)which is almost always inevitable. But for simple to intermediate stuff, it should be much quicker than H.
All autodesk’s “innovations” are based in acquisitions – they buy ready software and try to integrate it – and that’s it… after integration the original software developer will be fired and development will be killed – or it will slow down significantly.
I already lost hope for Arnold renderer… It was so good, but I am quite sure it won’t be after few years, especially with third part software (C4D, Houdini) 🙁 Why AD is so evil? Whyy… And Arnold will be most probably be available only for rent in few years…
