Mozilla has launched MozVR, a website dedicated to exploring immersive virtual reality Web experiences, sharing resources and showcasing work from VR web developers. The site offers browser-based 3D in the style of the old VRML, but augmented through the use of the Oculus Rift.
A few demos are already available, including Sechelt, a WebGL fly-through of coastal British Columbia, The Polar Sea, a documentary by DEEP that takes users to the Arctic in 360° VR video, and Information Diving, a visualization of data as art.
A VR-enabled build of Firefox for Mac or PC, and an Oculus Rift headset are needed to experience the VR content of the website. More on MozVR.com.
