The Foundry have announced new versions of Nuke and Hiero, plus a new product called Hieroplayer.
Highlights in version 7.0 of The Foundry’s compositing software include: the addition of RAM cache, which has been introduced to provide real-time playback, as well as a variety of GPU accelerated nodes for NukeX including MotionBlur, Kronos, Denoise, VectorGenerator, Convolve and ZDefocus. The Deep compositing workflow also sees the addition of the OpenEXR 2.0 Deep file format, and Nuke’s 3D system supports the Alembic file format. Nuke 7.0 beta is available now to all Nuke customers with current maintenance.
New features in Hiero 1.5, The Foundry’ s collaborative VFX workflow application, include: Windows OS support, broadcast monitor out, multi-channel image support and playback support for ARRIRAW.
The Foundry’s new offering, Hieroplayer, is a VFX playback tool designed to complement Hiero and integrate with Nuke and the VFX pipeline. Hieroplayer gives artists access to the full Hiero project on their VFX workstation. This allows to view shots in the context of a conformed Hiero timeline and quickly review versions of renders.
You can check out the details at The Foundry’s website: Nuke 7.0, Hiero 1.5 and Hieroplayer.
