Autodesk has announced a new version of Stingray, their real-time games engine. Version 1.3 introduces three new shaders: a fur shader for animal skin, a clear coat shader for car paint, and a new cloth shader to control light fallof and “fuzziness” of fabrics. There is also initial support for NVidia’s Apex Cloth simulator, changes to make particles more artist-friendly and many UI improvements. Watch the promo reel on YouTube.
