Chaos Group have officially released the latest version of their V-Ray renderer for Max, along with a series of videos showcasing the new features, including a general presentation and videos on dispersion, VRayLensEffects, VRayCarPaintMtl, VRayLightSelect, VRayStereoRig, VRayLensAnalysis, VRayDistanceTex, VRayMultiSubTex and dynamic loading of tiled OpenEXR textures. List of new features and enhancements:
V-Ray RT and V-Ray RT GPU interactive renderers included, VRayDistanceTex texture that calculates distance to objects and can be used to control displacements, VRayLightSelect render element to extract the contribution of individual lights, VRayLensEffects that adds glow and glare effects to the image, VRayStereoRig for quick setup of stereoscopic cameras, native stereoscopic support that re-uses GI calculations and shading data for optimized stereoscopic rendering, dispersion in the VRayMtl material, faster rendering of VRayProxy objects, VRayCarPaintMtl material with accurate flakes simulation, correct motion blur for ThinkingParticles, support for MetaSL shaders, etc.
