Red Giant has announced an update to its GPU-accelerated library of tools for video production. In v1.3, Universe incorporates 13 new effects and transitions, including VHS, Chromatic Aberration, Fisheye Fixer and more. Also of note, acknowledging the expansion of DaVinci Resolve, the latest version of Universe offers compatibility with Blackmagic Design's editing and color correction software. The Universe is compatible with major editing and compositing software and is being offered via subscription and a permanent license option. Paris-based Cube Creative have produced a spot for Cartier, directed by Nicolas Deveaux, who has worked previously on a number of projects involving CG animals. The new spot features great CG work and debunks the myth that Santa Claus is being aided by elves, the presents are seemingly distributed by panthers. Watch the video on YouTube.
