Iray 2015 announced

NVidia has disclosed more information on v2015 of its GPU-accelerated renderer. New features include: Material Definition Language (MDL) open standard that allows materials to be used across applications, support for measured materials using the X-Rite Appearance exchange Format (AxF), ability to use instanced geometry and optimizations for NVidia’s latest graphics hardware.
According to NVidia’s website Iray 2015 plugins will be available soon for 3DS Max, Maya, Rhino and Revit. Other non-official sources mention that a plugin for Cinema 4D will be available in the future, too. A standalone Iray Server is also being developed. The 3DS Max version seems to be the one nearest completion, Lightworks, the company responsible for developing the 3DS Max plugin, stated that it is now in the final beta stages and due to be released soon. The documentation for the Max plugin is already available online.
