London Symphony Orchestra – Roots and Origins

Alexa Sirbu and Lukas Vojir have created a new film for the London Symphony Orchestra that used Houdini and motion capture data of the composer Sir Simon Rattle to create a fascinating procedural botany that, in the words of the creators, expresses "the enormous power and complexity of the orchestra and traces it back to a single seed". WWF’s Elephant vs. Giraffe ad spot

New Zealand-based animation studio Cirkus created this entertaining ad spot for WWF. It features a cartoon-style fight between an elephant and a giraffe over a bottle of water to highlight the scarcity and preciousness of fresh drinkable water. Watch it on Vimeo.

McMurphy’s Qualcomm ad breakdowns

McMurphy has shared a breakdown video for 4 new commercials for Qualcomm. VFX Supervisors for the spots were Antoine Ponsart and Jerome Oliveras. They were directed by French director Jean Pierre Jeunet, best known for City of Lost Children, Amelie, Micmacs and more. Frameworks create a festive spot featuring Paddington for M&S

It's only early November but for advertisers it's never to early to start feeling festive. M&S has released their Christmas advert featuring Paddington Bear to tie in with the new film due for release this week. It was created by Framestore using "a lot of Houdini for all the VFX as you can imagine" Creative Director Jordi Bares. Watch it on YouTube.

The Shark In The Park

Polynoid has delivered a new piece called, The Shark In The Park. The piece visualizes the growth and development process of a strawberry species called “Parco Pistris” which was discovered by the Korean research group, KSPRI, in 2016. Watch it on Vimeo.
