AWS joins the Blender development fund
Last month The Blender Foundation announced that Amazon Web Services (AWS) has joined the Blender Development Fund as a Patron Member. According to the press release, the money is earmarked to “support continued core development and innovation for Blender, […] specifically to support character animation tools development”. A new initiative to overhaul Blender’s character animation tools was started two years ago. It includes a number of specs that were reviewed by character animator and industry veteran Jason Schleifer, who is now the Creative Director at AWS.
Thanks to this investment the Blender Foundation will be recruiting new developers to work specifically on these tools. Read the press release in full on the Blender Foundation website.
