Blender Studio has announced the release of Watchtower, a visual film production tracking tool designed to visualise the status of a “short film, episode or film sequence and unpack as much information as needed, down to the duration of a shot and assets used in it”. The web-based application was originally developed for Sprite Fright. You can find out more on the Blender Studio website and download the source code from GitLab.
Blender is going to be the industry standard in a few years^^ (~‾▿‾)~
Yeah, been hearing this for 20 years.
Yawn…
LoL yeah and it’s gonna take over Maya and Houdini next year too. That’s what we hear for a while from the noobs who join adults conversations uninvited.
How many key studios use Blender today as the main dcc?
Answer: 0.0000000
Not an expert, but this looks more like a nice addon for Kitsu, rather than a whole production tracking on its own
That’s what it is, it’s part of all the production tracking pipeline created during Sprite Fright production 🙂
I hope they try to make it a decent competitor to shotgrid/gun whatever.
Since competition is near zero and that the main tool is not amazing at all, they could win the war on this tool at least.
