CityEngine 2018 released
Esri has release a new version of its city modelling and analysis tool. New features in CityEngine 2018 include several improvement to visibility tools, publishing and collaborating on the ArcGIS platform, better framing of terrains imported using Get Map Data, UX improvements for scenarios, better viewport display and navigation, support for the GeoTIFF format and a new insertAlongUV operation that allows the user to read a geometry asset from a file and insert it and deform it to follow the current shape’s UV coordinates.
There have also been improvements to Unreal Engine support via Epic’s Datasmith Exporter that adds two additional export options to control object granularity and asset instancing, as well as fixing several bugs.
Many more improvement and new features are included, for the full list see the release notes and find out more about CityEngine on Esri’s website.
