EmberGen – real time volumetric fluid simulation
JangaFX is working on a real-time volumetric fluid simulation tool called EmberGen. According to the developers, it is able to “instantly simulate, render, and export flipbooks/sprite sheets to any game engine of your choice”.
EmberGen promises to be intuitive and as easy to use as possible with a node-based UI and several examples shipping with the tool to help new users get up and running. At present EmberGen only exports sprite sheets or flipbooks, in future though the ability to export volumetric data will also be supported.
The software is not yet publically available, but interested users can sign up to be part of an early access preview from the JangaFX website.
This looks incredible. Is there anything similar currently available? I’m especially looking for customizing explosions, without having to sim over night.
