Latest update of USD for 3ds Max 0.5 introduces MaterialX support
Autodesk has announced the latest update of USD for 3ds Max 0.5, bringing with it several handy new features and fixes. Among the notable additions is the inclusion of support for Morpher modifiers, which now can be exported as Blendshapes. This new feature is designed to dovetail with the Skin to USDSkel functionality that was introduced in the preceding version 0.4.
Moreover, responding to user demands, the update also incorporates support for MaterialX. The integration has seen the inclusion of a new MaterialX Material in the USD plugin, providing the capability for users to load MaterialX files into Max and apply them directly to objects. The USD Exporter has been updated to support MaterialX materials by referencing them within the exported USD files.
