Researchers at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland are working on a Panoptic Camera project. Each imager in the spherical device has a distinct focal point, which allows it to capture information about the scene simultaneously from different imagers with overlapping fields of view.
