Storm 0.2 released- updated standalone granular simulation tool
Effective TDs has announced an update to Storm, its standalone granular simulation tool created by Sebastian Schäfer. New features include improved performance with faster viewport display and better Particle/Deflector interaction. There’s also improved SDF creation and visualization, a number of new capabilities including the ability to relink particles over time, to kill particles, to stick particles to deforming objects and sleep/awake particles with geometry. Adaptive substepping is now possible as is internal geometry scaling.
The new release also adds animation shortcuts and the ability to export even more data as PRTs. Importing has been improved too, with support for camera imports via Alembic. Good news for Mac owners too, a MacOS version is now available.
Storm starts at $149.00 for for a node-locked indie license. A free unlimited demo is available which has all the features but prevents particle exporting. Find out more on the EffectiveTDs website and see a new features presentation and new tutorial on YouTube.
