Substance for 3DS Max plugin now released
After a lengthy Beta period, Allegorithmic has released its plugin for using Substance Materials in 3DS Max. This supercedes the version that ships with Max, adding support for the latest Substance core as well as many other features including the ability to generate materials for V-Ray, Corona, Arnold and Octane in a single click.
Interactive rendering is now supported so that users can update Substance material while using interactive renderers and see the results without restarting the render. It’s also now possible to add and organize Substance materials using 3ds Max Material Libraries and Substance presets (.sbsprs) created using the plugin are compatible with Allegorithmics other tools and integrations.
A new drop-down menu has been added to the Max interface with options to create materials for popular renderers, open the Substance settings to control default map size amongst other things, and open Substance source to download new materials from the library.
The Substance for 3DS Max plugin is available as a free download from Allegorithmic’s website. Access to Substance Source is available to Indie and Pro subscribers.
