Unity 5 released, free Personal Edition available

Unity Technologies has released the latest version of its multiplatform engine and development tools. Along with this release, the company has announced that a free Personal Edition is available, which provides all the features of Unity 5 engine and editor. This version can be used by developers that have a revenue under $100,000 and funding under $100,000. Unlike Unreal’s recent announcement no royalty payments are required in this case.
New features in Unity 5 include: Enlighten real-time lighting system, physically-based shaders, in-editor real-time lightmap previews, WebGL add-on, overhauled audio system, 64-bit Editor to handle large projects, 3D physics performance improvements with NVidia PhysX 3.3, SpeedTree integration, etc. Watch a new features video, read a features comparison between the Personal and Pro versions and find out more on Unity Technologies’ website.
