Verge3D released
Soft8Soft has released Verge3D, a new tool for authoring interactive web-based 3D content using WebGL and Three.js libraries.
As well as an API, Verge3D also includes a visual editor called Puzzles with an interface based on Google’s Blockly interface. This is commonly used in education to teach coding concepts to kids (including MITs well known Scratch application), so it’s likely to be easy to understand for 3D artists.
Materials are taken care of using a familiar shader editor that uses the PBR rendering model. The application integrates with Blender to simplify use with existing pipelines. There are also plans for integration with commercial DCC applications in the future.
Verge3D Personal normally costs $290, Team licenses costs $690 and Enterprise costs $1990 but there’s currently a 30% Black Friday discount. A fully functional trial is also available. Find out more on Soft8Soft’s website.
