Adobe introduces generative AI in Substance 3D apps
Adobe has announced the introduction of generative AI capabilities to its Substance 3D applications. Powered by Adobe’s proprietary AI, Firefly, this update brings new beta features to Substance Sampler and Stager, designed to enhance material creation and product visualization workflows.
The new Text to Texture feature in Substance Sampler allows users to generate textures based on textual descriptions, offering a straightforward method for material visualization. The generated materials are fully tileable and maintain the correct perspective for seamless integration into the material generation pipeline. Adobe’s Image to Material function further processes these textures, producing materials with realistic or stylized finishes.Stager introduces a Generative Background feature, enabling artists to visualize products in any environment described in text.
This introduction signifies the first step in incorporating Firefly into the Substance 3D ecosystem, hinting at potential future advancements in creativity and efficiency for industries like gaming, VFX, and product design.
Substance 3D subscribers can access the beta versions of Stager and Sampler now through the Creative Cloud Desktop application, under the “Beta Apps” category.
