Arnold 6.0.4 update plus new features for 3DS Max and Cinema 4D
Autodesk has announced an update to the Arnold Core, introducing several new features including:
- Automatic file path remapping
- Rim light control for the toon shader
- Performance improvements on Windows with many cores and texture-heavy scenes
- Upgraded OSL
- Several GPU and USD enhancements and more
The integration plugins for Cinema4D and 3ds Max have also been updated adding some interesting new features. 3DS Max gains a new RenderView mode, essentially a dedicated IPR framebuffer for real-time feedback. 3ds Max also gains support for TyFlow instancing, and baking improvements.
The Cinema 4D integration adds a brand new scattering tool for distributing instances over a surface, as well as viewport proxy settings for procedurals and several changes in the Tx texture workflow.
