Daniel Martínez Lara and José Molina are working on a Blender add-on for extending Blender's Grease Pencil functionality. The layer manager stores the values and options from each Grease Pencil layer, and is also useful to set each layer's visibility when you are working with lots of layers, backgrounds, different characters, etc. The add-on is expected to be made available soon for download. The developers of the open source painting software have released a beta that incorporates animation features, which were funded through Krita's Kickstarter campaign. A tutorial on how to use the new features is available. More on Krita's website.

Bertrand Benoit has updated his portfolio with a great still life test and accompanying video from a recent experiment he did using the Octane renderer with 3DS Max and models captured with Agisoft Photoscan. He has also posted a couple of still life "Sad Doodles", created with Max and V-Ray.
