Red Giant has released an update to its flagship suite of video processing tools, which brings support for Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve (for Magic Bullet Looks, Film, Cosmo and Mojo). Improvements to Magic Bullet Looks include a Trackpad Mode (for more fluid and intuitive way of using Looks) and an updated LUT tool with new LUTs and Looks. Bullet Colorista III gains OpenCL and CUDA support, which provides realtime color correction while you play your video in Premiere Pro, Skin Overlay that makes it easy to check your skin tones and a Keyer “Cut Out” mode for layered color corrections. Australian studio Animal Logic has officially opened in Canada, with the first of the team moving into their new 45,000 sq ft studio in Yaletown, Vancouver. The studio will be led by its current Group Head of Production, Sharon Taylor. The first film to be produced will be The Lego Movie sequel, which is part of a three-picture deal with Warner Bros. Spanish artist Eloi Andaluz presents another creative project: CG muffins with chocolate chips modeled procedurally using Cebas' ThinkingParticles physics tools. Eloi used the new smoke solver together with other features such as the snapshot tool. Watch the video and find out more on And_VFX.

VFX and character FX artist Corbin Mayne has kindly shared a new tool for Houdini to turn curves into braids, dreadlocks, curls or just to allow some modification of the shape of the curves. It accepts multiple curves at a time and works with animated curves. More on .

New features in Blender Guru's outdoor lighting add-on for Blender include: ability to add your own HDR skies, sky categories, options to remove the black bottom half of the sky (by mirroring the HDR or changing the background color), ability to modify the hue and saturation of the sky and lighting, etc. More on Blender Guru's website.

Quick Menu is an autocomplete launcher for After Effects by Edgar Huanca. It lets you quickly launch effects, plugins, presets, scripts and expressions and most menu commands in After Effects by typing their names (or parts of them), instead of having to look for them through AE's interface.
