After posting a couple of teasers, NY-based studio Nathan Love has released the final video announcing its partnership with UK animation studio Aardman, effectively becoming Aardman Nathan Love. According to their website, the studio "will create original animated entertainment, with a strong focus on character and storytelling, for audiences around the world. As Aardman continues its business in the UK, Aardman Nathan Love will be a venture to build new business in New York with American agencies and clients ..." Watch the video on Vimeo.

Supinfocom alumnus Antoine Delach has come up with an interesting stylized aesthetic for portraying the city of Paris. According to the author: "Scientific and dreamlike documentary at once, Ghost Cell is a stereoscopic plunge into the guts of an organic Paris seen as a cell through a virtual microscope." New features in Solid Angle's renderer include refractive dispersion, volumetric scattering AOVs (direct and indirect scattering in volumes can now be rendered separately), optimized rendering of volumes, subdivision surfaces, deep EXR, etc. Integration plugins for Softimage, Maya, Cinema 4D and Houdini have also been updated. Corel has released ParticleShop, a Photoshop plugin that brings Corel Painter's physics-inspired particle brushes to Adobe's software, allowing to paint with brushes that spring, flow, gravitate and glow. More on Corel's website.

JARCH Vis is an architectural modeling free Blender add-on by Jacob Morris for speeding up the workflow of architectural visualization by allowing simple objects like siding, flooring, stairs and roofs to be created and edited quickly. Ftrack AB announced that their cloud-based production tracking and asset management tool has added integration with The Foundry's Nuke Studio. This allows users to easily set up their Ftrack projects directly from inside Nuke Studio, and then pick their workflow and tag shots with appropriate tasks.
