New features in the open source framework for creating browser-based 3D visualizations, games and interactive presentations include:
(Since last reported.)
- Node-based logic editor – completely revised visual editor, now the application’s logic can be defined using much more convenient and intuitive nodes instead of the previously existing sequential stack of logic bricks. The new visual programming tool is based on Blender’s standard node editor.
- Support for multiple “Material” nodes in node materials
- Support for the brand new browser Microsoft Edge
- New APIs for parent-relative transforming
- Accelerated scene loading
- Soft particles – particles rendered as billboards smoothly dissolve when coming in contact with other surfaces
- Procedural transparency masks in node materials
The developers are also presenting a new demo with this release, a large-scale visualization of a real manufacturing enterprise. The demo shows the making of four popular dairy products, starting with the transportation and handling of raw milk right up to bottling and packaging the finished items.
