Allan McKay’s TyFlow tutorials
Software used: 3DS Max (TyFlow)
Subjects: Particles
Updated 3 May 2019. If you’re new to TyFlow then Allan Mckay’s latest tutorial is a good place to start. It focuses on creating your first particle system using the example of multi-coloured fireworks. Watch it on YouTube.
Also released this week was a new one and a half hour tutorial for TyFlow, demonstrating how to create ash and other low mass effects of the type seen in Avengers. In fact, it’s based on Allan’s work on Avenger’s Endgame as well as the ash disintegration effects from Blade, the God of War Superbowl spot and more.
Dispersion Disintegration effect
In this tutorial this Allan McKay demonstrates a dispersion disintegration effect using Thanos from Avengers Endgame as a model. Watch it on YouTube.
Car Destruction Effect
He has also released nearly an hour of instruction on how to create a car destruction effect and covers particles and dynamic car simulation through FX rigging and dynamics. A second hour long tutorial takes a detailed look at TyFlow’s granular sand solver while a third video (already reported) demonstrates several of TyFlow’s key features to create in a skin tearing character effect.
For more TyFlow tutorials, see CGPress’ new section and if you have a tutorial to share – please let us know!
Thank you.
Gezz Allan when are you going to make something more original? 🙂 you have been making the same ash tutorials since the blade days..
