Blender = Jack of all trades but not really good in anything (except evee and grease pencil maybe)

Don’t go to Blender if you want to use Vray, they won’t release it…

… I just hope they could announce officially that they won’t support Blender in the same way they announced the would not support Modo and in the same way they did this announcement.

Not a bad thing per-se, but would clarify a lot of people’s mind, wheter to go to blender or to fully avoid it.

Interisting News today..

I Wonder what this is… realy.. a third company buys chaos and Enscape and then What? What are the benefits for those companys?

What will this bring to us folks? Only new Liscense models or will we get Enscape with Vray Quality in realtime and the ease of use of Enscape tomorrow?

I bet they’ll merge Chaos Vantage and Enscape to compete against Lumion and Twinmotion.

The Chaos-Corona merger was a positive for the community. I believe this will also be a positive thing. Be thankful Enscape was not absorbed by Autodesk.

Corona prices continued fair. Can’t say the same about VRay prices.

I doubt this, unless I’m wrong, Chaos was in charge of everything, original founders and owners were actually in charge when Corona was acquired.

Now we are talking that a investment fund entered the game, so the game rules change, the people who put their money on this know nothing about this, except benefits, so I’m not sure this will be good at all, not for the software itself, but for the company in general…

My hypothesis is that VRAY is perhaps becoming less important within Unreal Engine, since Lumen is such an advancement in real-time lighting. This move to merge with Enscape would put Chaos in a better place with respect to real-time applications. How well does Enscape handle interactivity?

I had been hoping that VRAY would be a bridge between all 3D packages by using USD file format, because in recent releases of (VRAY, MAYA and MAX), VRAY has been able to send custom info to Maya and 3DS MAX. That would be immensely helpful if a scene could be modeled and shaded with VRAY and then sent to MAYA, or even Blender to pass scenes back and forth. Clearly no modifiers would be transferrable, but rather geometry and whatever else USD can transmit. But it seems that since VRAY is writing custom packets of data to USD format, it seems technically feasible to add more robust support between packages.

I was also hoping that VRAY would be updated finally to support the latest Blender… but it seems Chaos hasn’t made any updates on this front. If Chaos made this update, it would be an excellent way to move files and lighting between software, and would also increase the demand for renting their entire suite. If VRAY were available on Blender it would be a great move for Chaos!

Let’s see if Blender support increases, and if UE support decreases in the future. Very interesting indeed!

While all the realtime applications can´t compare to vrays realism, they all come in handy and fast on the other side of the workflow… in usability and speed of configuration.

on this side. in my opiinion, Enscape is one of the best.

Problem with feature packed software is, that each company tries to put in as much as possible, because if not.. there would be no new features… Al mature Programms tend to do so..

Now for a company as mine as a whole, the amount of knowledge needed just to stay on track with dozens of programms can be overwhelming to the point, more features doesnt benefit you anymore.. but rather slow you down. Because its not only CAD or 3d in Max or Maya… or c4D.. its also two renderengines, its word and excel and Outlook and dozens of tools..

So enscape tries to avoid these problems and untill now is very sucsessfull in it. In my opinion , while not as powerful as some others like lumion ore esp. Unreal, featurewise, its is more powerful when you want to acheave aims in your day to day work. because you just get there fast, and the images are still by far good enough for most of our clients.. And if theres a big international Architectural competition, where you need final image quality.. then there´s still vray..

So lets see what this merger realy will bring us.

It’s not about the quality they offer today, but what where will this go tomorrow.
You got to prepare for the future. Adapt or die.

Imo this is the end of vray, expect more price hikes, development on vray GPU will stop completely (thats saying something, cos its already essentially abandoned by the team, they only hire people to defend it now instead of devs)

i fear some horrific blend of Enscape and Vantage that attempts (and fails to beat) Unreal Engine

Expect a niche CAD focus and the death of the company in 3 years from now. Peter and Vlado have cashed in and are on the way to the Greek Islands to swim and laugh about the good old days of Vray while we struggle in our bedrooms on minimum wage doing toilet renders.

Chaos can provide the blend of Enscape and Vantage to CAD vendors like it have done in V-ray currently.
It’ll beat 3ds Max, Lumion, and Twinmotion.

Very nice. Chaos group has a great knowledge about visualization. Chaos is not like AD, they share their knowledge to improve partnership products. I believe they will do their best to create a better product with Enscape for the marketplace. Wish they have more artist friendly pricing policy.
