Chaos updates Vantage 2 with improved scattering, lens effects, and DLSS 4 support
Chaos has announced Vantage 2.7. This update includes improvements to scattering, lens effects, color correction, and sky rendering, among other improvements.
The new Scatter Surface Color feature, allows instances to inherit the color of the underlying object. Other Scatter updates include better density control and ensure temporal consistency. Lens Distortion and Vignetting Effects have been included to simulate real-world optical effects, giving users more flexibility in achieving specific visual styles. A new procedural Dirt Texture has been added to help create natural-looking surfaces.
The update also introduces a refined Sky Model that supports nautical twilight and adapts sky renders based on observer altitude. Color correction tools now include new blur and sharpen effects. Additionally, support for OpenColorIO enables more precise color fidelity, and the integration of DLSS 4 improves visual quality through advanced ray reconstruction.
