Montpellier-based Isotropix has released v2.0 of its software that blends compositing, layout, animation and rendering functionality into a single application. The new version brings significant improvements such as fast volume rendering, OpenVDB 3.0 support, deep image output through OpenEXR 2.0, double sided vector displacements and a new AOV engine. A new set of texture nodes is also available for look dev artists as well as a file referencing engine designed to solve team work issues.

A free Personal Learning Edition is available for download and a number of tutorials can be found on Isotropix’s YouTube channel. More on Isotropix’s website.

Can we please stop with the feature videos that show each feature for about 2 frames, making the text completely unreadable? We get it, you worked hard. There’s a ton of new features. Would be great to actually be able to see what they are.

Otherwise, looks like a pretty cool release.

I think as a company you have to consider that a lot of people have short attention span, or not a lot of time and you want to impress. To learn more about the new features, you can’t you check out their website?

Just go on the official website, there are plenty of videos that show more in detail the features. That one is just the ‘trailer’.
