E-on Software announced the availability of updates to two of their applications, the landscape creation and animation software Vue 2016 and plant creation software PlantFactory 2016. Vue 2016 R2 includes features such as the ability to render 360 degree virtual reality panoramas, easier access and editing of multiple materials, ability to use up to 16 viewports instead of 4, and more. Meanwhile the two main features in PlantFactory 2016 R2 are the ability to quickly and automatically generate low polygon versions of plants while keeping the full detail when rendering, and setting up billboard leaves when you want to use the plant in a real-time environment or when they are small on-screen. Most Vue 2016 updates seem to be to the right direction. However, it still lacks some important things. A better-looking cloud system with a more natural looking atmosphere would be extremely useful (Terragen 4 clouds now seem way more natural). Also, OpenVDB export for clouds (until now, only Houdini has implemented, out of the box, this feature) and a better collaboration with applications for matte painting like Clarisse would be vital additions. A bold and industry shaking decision would be to sell Plant Factory and Vue as a unified product and a complete alternative solution instead of the industry standard Speedtree.
Vue is just a bloated, resource heavy bug laden cropah bah bah.
