@alih
I know it’s become the cool trend to meet every positive 3dsmax news
with a cynical response, but at least try to make sense.
I have no problem when users highlight some of Max’s shortcomings, no matter how harsh it may be, as long as they show a very good understanding of the software and reveal problems arising from actual usage.
At least that helps the developers gain some insight the challenges users face.
But just bashing Max without stating what your actual problem is, just because everyone else is doing it, you are not helping anyone. You are more or less trolling.

Today I think this way… What Max can do with plugins not even Houdini can. So I see this plugins case like a great addition to Max. What we need to improve is the default Max and I don’t know why, but I feel like Eddie is really being honest and I trust they are pushing Max in the right direction.

It’s just a gut feeling, will have to wait and see. But I like his enthusiasm.

As a user base we should be able to compile a list of reasonable fix’s, features and concerns. Post them to a website, get a response from AD on each point. Then track the progress or lack there of.

a REASONABLE user bill of right’s, Yea good luck with that!

I’ve put 3dsmax subscription on pause for now…i need to see some proper development to justify jumping back on board, right now i’m running max 2015 plus blender and modo…so have a plan b and plan c!

would love to see 3ds max come back fighting, got just too tired of the pre release talk every year and then a whimper of an actual release feature list.

also add back in the old user interface colors and icons..flippin hate the ones in max 2015.

@othoap You mean exactly like this one? http://3dsmaxfeedback.autodesk.com/

Rotem,

WOW, that’s it exactly. My bad I lost so much respect for AD help and doc’s I forgot about that. You can post and vote, WELL DONE AD!

Now it’s up to all us to use this site

@othoap The site is very useful, but I wouldn’t get too optimistic, The site has been around for years already. It’s not just a matter of how well we use it, it also depends of how well AD uses it.

I can to some degree understand that some people feel let down a bit (I can see it from a subscription point of view), but other then that – honestly, you are free to choose application.

3dsmax has come a long way (I’ve been using it every single day since R 3.14), and stability is much better now then what it has been in many releases, there are a lot of work being done behind the scenes (internal stuff) that’s really important for stability of 3dsmax, without stability it’s useless regardless of how many ‘cool’ plugins you have in it.

To those of you who complain – why don’t you give them proper feedback through their site?

Why don’t you enroll in the http://beta.autodesk.com program and try to be one of those who actually do something positive for the development?

Send in bug reports, be active ,be helpful, don’t just sit there and complain.

I visit the User Voice site mentioned with some sort of frequency and I do see a number of things get addressed.

As for all the complaining people do, frankly its old hat, it seems an easy way to dredge up some attention for oneself. Post legit complaints/issues/bugs or forget about it. We have all heard it literally a million times.

Imagine youself, you go to work everyday, you work hard trying do make one little corner a better place, and all you hear from everyone is what a horrible job you are doing, bitching about everything you are working on, everyday. Does that make you want to keep coming to work? Think about it, seriously.
