3D-IO has announced that Flatiron, its plugin for 3DS Max that simplifies the process of unwrapping, packing and texture baking individual objects or an entire scene, now supports Arnold Renderer. The update is free for existing license owners and Arnold 2.1.9 or greater is required. Find out more on 3D-IO’s website.
Still missing Octane support :/
Hello Samuel,
There is no hope for Octane, unfortunately. Octane does not support standard 3dsMax render-to-texture, does not offer SDK for us to access it and uses own (obscure) way through some cameras and iDs to bake textures via render viewport. We spent time and money to understand and fix it, but it led nowhere.
My suggestion would be to write to Octane guys and ask them just to keep on the same track as Redshift, Corona, Vray (hey, we support even Brazil – because it still uses normative regulations of Autodesk for RTT and render elements). Simply add render elements and RTT support in Max. This way we could hook in and get it to work.
I mean, even Arnold renderer made it… 🙂
Everything else is hack, i am sorry.
Done!
