Belgium-based artist Midge Sinnaeve is once again generously sharing free scanned 3D models he created, this time a set of 10 freshly squeezed fruit models in OBJ format with 2K textures. The models have been retopologized. Watch a video and find the download link on The Mantissa.

I’m surprised that the quality of ‘scanned’ models isn’t that precise or detailed compared to those of actual 3D models.

Hey man,

I’m still learning so they’re getting better and better as I progress. I’m giving these away as fruits of my labor. (Pun not intended)
These haven’t been processed at maximum resolution, they’ve just been an exercise at speeding up my workflow for multiple items.
That’s why they’re free. 🙂

I’ve done quite some higher resolution scans already, these are just quick assets to throw in a scene, not necessarily meant as hero objects.
And I’ll admit, my retopology skills are a work in progress, hehe.

I appreciate the feedback though, if you’re interested in a chat about photogrammetry feel free to drop a reply here.

Cheers,

M.

it´s nice of you to put these out for free.
zbrush does autoretopo really well though, with the ability to bake in the colour and displacement info. vizpark has a really nice showcase of their rocks workflow.

I didn’t know about that.
I’ll check it out, thanks!
