(Updated) Fusion for Houdini has been renamed to Flux HDA, and is now available for purchase from Gumroad for $100. Although the digital asset can be used in Maya and Cinema 4D via Houdini Engine, the author states he is not supporting applications other than Houdini due to having observed slowdowns in Maya when using different builds of Houdini Engine.
(Updated) Two new videos have surfaced: Retopology Tools and Setup Fusions.
(Updated) Two new videos have surfaced: one showing Fusion being used in Maya and another one showing Fusion in Houdini for modeling a gamepad.
A set of tools for improving modeling in Houdini that borrows ideas from Modo’s MeshFusion is being developed by Alexey Vanzhula. Check out a couple of preview videos on Vimeo: Fusion For Houdini 16, Fusion HDA.

This is something that should be by default in Maya especially because it is now the main application promoted for modeling in games and films. And Max needs that too, even if it has way better booleans than Maya. This new plugin (Fusion HDA) is very interesting for both Maya and Houdini users and with a good price, I mean lower than hard mesh 2, it could be very popular. Meshfusion is a little bit overestimated in my opinion (it still produces many errors in the strip widths between booleans and has an autoretopo with mediocre results compared to Zremesher or 3dcoat) but definitely, it’s a great selling point for Modo and it has set new standards for booleans. Well done!
I find difficult to believe that Max has batter booleans than any other application.
At the time of speaking, I think that Modo and Houdini have the most forward thinking booleans. Considering Autodesk, Max has better booleans than Maya, especially after Max 2017.
In my opinion the best boolean is LightWave Meta Mesh.

Wow this is incredible! Thanks for sharing.
I wish it would be available for Maya.
WOW!!!!! Amazing!
Max bought Probooleans years ago and integrated it in like Max 6? ish? It works great… Maya’s new booleans is good too, but I haven’t done a comparison.
That was one of Max 9’s new features.
Bought ProBooleans, or licensed it from nPower Software? It still says “Technology by nPowerSoftware a Division of IntegrityWare, inc”. I assume it will be dropped sooner or later, as they upgraded the default Booleans to do the same as ProBooleans.
Proboolean works great!? in what planet? sorry for sarcasm but i unless is some simple mesh Proboolean is as bad as normal booleans.
I always knew subdivision modelling lacked a bit of the Nurbs magic..
Rhinoceros – archaic, non-interactive and cumbersome
Alias – irrational (so many clicks to do simple things), slow, and pretty much impossible to use for any person who started with Max/Maya/Lightwave first
Meshfusion – began a very nice take on hard-surface modelling that can create a conservative amount of polys for game engines too.
T-spline technology – laughable, useless .. no self-respecting designer would make a real product with this
But I wish somebody would create a 2017 user friendly and rational Alias alternative with the same tools.. wink wink Autodesk
Not available on the Orbolt website yet from what I can tell. Can anyone confirm that it is indeed released and link to a sales page? Thanks.
