Originally developed as an in-house engine at OKAM Studio, Godot has a track-record of more than a decade of published games. Its code was open sourced in February 2014. Godot contains a fully-featured editor designed for artists that runs in Windows, OSX and Linux, and can deploy games to PC, mobile and web platforms. Version 1.0 has been released, and the developers invite artists to check out the 2D/3D game engine’s capabilities. Read the list of features and find out more on Godot’s website.
Also of note, the developers have outlined the features they’ll be working on for v1.1, including improvements to the 2D engine and enhanced HTML5 support.
