A group of Hungarian historians have collaborated with CG artists from Greenzero studio to create “Homeland – Hungarian History 3D”, a stereoscopic animated documentary that presents a summary of Hungary’s history in 14 minutes. The short was produced for 3D Past, a cinema located in the city of Budapest. It was made using 3DS Max, Ornatrix and V-Ray. Greenzero also developed their own character setup and animation system for the project, called Genezis, which streamlines bone/muscle/skin simulation. Watch the trailer on Greenzero’s website.
Note: The 3D Past website also has a trailer of another CG documentary focused on the history of Budapest’s Buda castle.
