Side Effects Software and Maxon announced the availability of a public beta of the Houdini Engine for Cinema 4D plugin, which allows Houdini Digital Assets to work in Cinema 4D. Now custom effects can be built using Houdini’s node-based workflow and then accessed by artists who use Cinema 4D.
Pre-built assets can be found on the Orbolt store, Side Effects’ marketplace for Houdini assets. The public beta of the Houdini integration is available as a free download to users who have Cinema 4D Studio R16 with Service Pack 3 installed, along with a valid and compatible license. Houdini, Houdini FX, Houdini Indie, Houdini Engine or Houdini Engine Indie licenses can all be used to run the beta. There is also a 30 day Houdini Engine trial available.
