BcM industries has published a demo of a Lego generator tool created in Houdini that has some nice features including the automatic addition of top and bottom slanted blocks where possible; hollow or solid insides, with the option of different colouring; several colouring modes such as constant, random, ramp, and texture; and finally, dynamics with custom made vertical glue bonds realistic destruction.
