KeenTools rolls out 2023.2 update: Introducing GeoTracker for Blender and enhancements across platforms
KeenTools has unveiled its 2023.2 update, introducing GeoTracker for Blender in an open beta format. After its successful integration into Foundry Nuke and After Effects, GeoTracker is now extended to Blender. This tool allows users to mimic the motion of live-action elements in a 3D environment, facilitating the integration of these elements into shots without resorting to other software.
GeoTracker for Blender provides a range of features. It allows for object and camera tracking based on geometry and facilitates 3D object and camera alignment directly within Blender. Users can texture 3D models using videos and navigate through an easy-to-follow workflow. The tool can automatically estimate focal length, track zoom shots, and offers both 2D and 3D masking capabilities. When paired with the KeenTools FaceBuilder add-on, it also enhances head tracking. Moreover, it’s compatible with pipelines outside of Blender.
During its beta phase, GeoTracker for Blender can be accessed for free.
Beyond the new Blender add-on, the 2023.2 update brings improvements to other KeenTools products across different platforms. The FaceBuilder for Blender now boasts faster texture generation. GeoTracker for After Effects has seen improvements in video analysis speed, tracking performance, surface masking speed, and a resolution to the primitive scaling issues. The Nuke package also benefits from faster video analysis, improved tracking performance, a speedier TextureBuilder, accelerated surface masking, and a new version tailored for Nuke 14 that’s compatible with the latest Linux systems, specifically RHEL9.
All these updated tools are readily available for download on the KeenTools website.
