The Krita Foundation announced that their latest Kickstarter campaign has been funded and reached its 2nd stretch goal, which means that the open source image editing software will soon incorporate various important features, such as significant performance improvements for handling big canvases, quality 2D animation tools, improved layer handling and various workflow improvements. The third stretch goal, which hasn’t been reached yet, would also bring much needed features such as adding pixel precision to the layer move tool. Interestingly enough, Krita still does not allow to move a selection with pixel precision (though one can convert it to a vector selection, which allows for such transformations), and still needs to implement easy layer centering and alignment tools. Also of note, the developers have released a new build of the software with a number of improvements, including PSD layer styles compatibility. Head over to Kickstarter for more.
