MoCapture is a plugin for 3DS Max that allows you to do facial motion capturing using filmed footage without the need for markers. The developer also claims that it supports any facial rig but that they recommend a morpher based rig. It also features the ability to record a video stream inside 3DS Max. The next version, 2.0, is already in development and with that release body and hand tracking will be available using Microsoft’s Kinect sense (sold separately) as well as Lip Sync blending tools, improved tracking algorithm and machine learning. The plugin is available for any amount you wish to pay by donating. If you decide to go all in and donate US$100 or more you will get all subsequent versions for free. Find out more about this plugin on MoCapture’s website.
Would be nice if they had a video that shows what it actually does.
By looking at the interface screengrab we learn that it’s using the open source Csiro Face Analysis SDK. You can see a video of this technology in action here: http://face.ci2cv.net/
Shame its only for 2017 so far.. I mean who stays current these days 😉
