The Foundry has announced that the upcoming 10.1 update for Modo will introduce a procedural modeling system that will significantly improve the software’s modeling workflow. According to The Foundry’s Shane Griffith, the main goal of the upcoming 10.1 release is to build a better modeling stack approach within Modo. The new system is being developed to support presets, third-party development and a nodal relationship graph as well.
Modo 10.1 will be released as public beta later this week. Watch some preview videos and find out more on The Foundry’s forum.

Each release, I have less and less reasons to keep using Blender -only animation, previz and gpu rendering- and Max – this will depend on customer/boss u.u-
Looks like Modo is finally adding something like the max modifier stack.
OMG, that last video with Procedural Meshes and Mesh Fusion is amazing, NURBS-Poly-Magic would be the appropriate term. Should I need to spend money on something to help with modeling tasks, it’s going to be Modo, no doubt.
From what is visible from the videos it seems like a solid implementation of procedural/non-destructive workflow. What I would like to see is how different tools in the “modifier stack” coexist with each other and give predictable results. I can only imagine how difficult it is to write code for implementing these features. I am not eligible for beta (i have modo indie) so it is going to be interesting to see what will the beta testers create with new features. This surely opens the doors bunch of new features/setups etc.
